The build

Lowered front / rear: -25 / -35 mm

The 8 Series Gran Coupe is one of BMW's most elegant shapes, but its factory ride height softens the long, low profile. This 840i was fitted in our workshop with Cobra's 01.4390 lowering springs: 25 mm at the front and 35 mm at the rear.

The bigger rear drop pulls the car down over its wheels and makes the coupe roofline look even longer. It remains a grand tourer: the springs keep the 840i's comfortable, quiet character, while reducing body roll and making the big car feel more connected on country roads. A small change on paper with a big visual impact, exactly what a car like this needs.
